New Product Launch | AHT Tool Triple-Edge Milling Cutter – The Efficient & Precision Choice for Diverse Machining Conditions

The manufacturing industry is rapidly advancing toward higher precision and efficiency. Yet in precision slot milling and various other milling applications, persistent challenges remain: long overhang in deep cavities causes chatter, compromising surface finish; batch processing of multiple slots requires repeated clamping, slowing production rhythm; different slot widths demand multiple tools, driving up inventory and usage costs; insert movement during machining leads to dimensional deviation and even workpiece scrap; and in confined spaces or back-milling of irregular parts, conventional tools are often constrained by machine geometry and fail to meet requirements.
Addressing these real-world shop-floor challenges, AHT Tool introduces its new indexable triple-edge milling cutter series. Developed based on extensive research into actual working conditions, and centered on the four core production demands of precision, cost, efficiency, and cycle time, the series comprises two product families – LX and LN – supported by a full range of connection interfaces and application-specific inserts. The series delivers reliable, domestically produced cutting solutions for complex milling operations including slot milling, face milling, shoulder milling, back milling, and cut-off across industries such as automotive, construction machinery, aerospace, and general machinery – ensuring stable and precise machining of various precision components.
The triple-edge milling cutter series comprises two specification families – LX and LN – with broad coverage. Multiple cutter heads can be stacked for simultaneous machining, effectively reducing process time and optimizing production line cycle times.
Available widths: 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm
Cutter diameter range: 50mm–250mm
Ideal for demanding applications such as deep cavities, confined spaces, and long overhang conditions.

Available widths: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 20mm
Cutter diameter range: 80mm–250mm
Designed for wide-slot machining and rapid stock removal – one insert fits multiple cutter body sizes.

The entire series features a fixed double-layer staggered tooth design, ensuring balanced cutting forces throughout the process. This enhances cutting stability, minimizes chatter, and delivers consistent dimensional accuracy with excellent surface finish.
Flexible Adaptation Across Multiple Scenarios
The new series features three standard connection interfaces, balancing versatility, ease of assembly, and cutting rigidity – tailored to suit different machine tools and varied machining conditions.
Type C Cylindrical Shank with Detachable Structure
Designed specifically for LX series in demanding applications – easy assembly and disassembly with strong compatibility, suitable for confined spaces and deep-cavity interference-prone conditions.

Compatible with standard general-purpose face mill arbors – widely available on the market. Existing holders can be directly used, reducing additional holder investment. Ideal for conventional machining applications.

Excellent drive connection rigidity with high torque capacity – stably supports multiple cutter head combinations for flexible process adaptation. Ideal for heavy stock removal and high-load batch machining, effectively preventing cutter slippage and deviation during cutting.

The main cutting edge is oriented along the insert thickness direction, with an optimized assembly structure between insert and cutter body. An extended clamping screw design ensures secure insert locking and stable positioning, preventing displacement or loosening during prolonged continuous cutting – extending the tool's effective service life.

Equipped with a secondary wiper edge for improved slot wall surface quality, reducing or eliminating subsequent finishing operations. The MM3 sharp chipbreaker design lowers cutting resistance and mitigates tool body deflection during long overhang machining.
The insert seating surface is precision-ground for stable positioning accuracy. A single-sided 4-edge design with non-handed inserts simplifies inventory management and on-machine tool changes, optimizing overall tooling costs.
A single insert fits multiple cutter bodies, reducing inventory variety. Built-in wiper edge ensures superior surface finish.
Featuring a patented anti-shift surface design, the insert generates a clamping force that conforms to the cutter body seating during cutting – effectively preventing insert movement, loosening, or displacement. This minimizes slot width deviation and workpiece scratching, enhancing machining safety and yield rates.
Precision-ground mounting surface combined with a double-sided 4-edge design delivers ample usable cutting edges per insert. Suitable for milling most conventional materials including steel and cast iron, with broad application coverage.
