The helix angle of a thread is determined by the specific relationship between thread diameter and pitch. Thread turning combines the characteristics of both form machining and multi-edge cutting. To achieve precise thread machining and extend insert service life, the tilt angle of the insert must be finely adjusted via the tool holder and shim, so that the relief angles on both cutting edges of the insert are as consistent as possible. This ensures stable and reliable thread machining accuracy and significantly improves insert durability.
